Generate More Revenue by Using Affiliate Programs
How can I use affiliate programs to increase my profits?
An affiliate program, or associate program, is used to generate paid online referrals, and is developed an individual internet site owner. Basically, other companies join the affiliate website and become partners. They then refer customers to the affiliate and earn a commission for each referral resulting in a purchase. While this partnership can be a win/win situation, there are questions to ask before jumping on board.
Is an affiliate program right for me?
In order for an affiliate program to truly benefit you, you must do your research and know what to expect and what your goals are. Educate yourself!
How do I know which program is right for me?
First and foremost, make a list of products that you are willing to use or have used and are compatible with your own product/services. The best referrals come from firsthand experience and knowledge. Rank your list so that you know your top products or services before choosing any affiliate programs.
The biggest mistake with affiliate programs is becoming too eager so that you join too many programs and none of them become profitable. Stick to your list and remember that less is more in some cases.
Choose programs that pay well. Take your time and do your research until you find the affiliate programs that pay top dollar. Another tip would be to find programs that pay for referred customers for life.
I’ve made my choice, what’s next?
PROMOTE! It isn’t enough to just place a link on your site. You have to promote and market your affiliate website in order to ensure that you truly benefit from a referral program. Our best advice is to sell your affiliate site as you would your own. After all, the result is money in your pocket!

Who is linking into my website?
The best way to ensure that the right people, as well as the right amount of people, are linking your site is to self promote. As you begin marketing your own site, you will discover that you need to contact similar businesses to request a link exchange, asking them to link you, and in return you will link them. This method is not only free, it is a way to generate more traffic to your site.
Another way is to make sure that you content within your site is fresh. All too often site owners rely only on the content on the home page, while neglecting their other web pages. Most of your traffic is going to come from search engines and links from other websites, and these links are going to be page or subject matter specific, rather than just links to your home page. Keep it fresh, updated, and attractive. An SEO company will have a good web content writer on staff to assist you with your web content needs.
While SEO is necessary and highly beneficial, it is not always enough. Self promotion is always a necessary tactic when it comes to your website. And linking is a great way to increase your traffic flow.

What is SEO?
SEO
Soothing Earthly Organics? Smothering Egotistical Organization? What the heck is SEO???
Well, let’s say you have a web site that your best friend designed for you. It looks pretty sleek, and you are quite proud of it. But there is one small hitch. Nobody knows it’s there except for you and your best friend. You offer the best darn whatchamajigs this side of the Mason-Dixon line and could surly sell a truck load of them if only someone knew you had them for sale! What’s a whatchamajig salesman to do? How do you get people to find your web site so they can rave over your whatchmajigs? That’s where SEO comes to the rescue!
Search Engine Optimization…. The process of optimizing your web site pages in such a way as to increase the volume and quality of traffic from search engines. In other words, Search Engine Optimization makes it easier and more likely that people who are looking for something like your whatchamajigs will be far more likely to find your web site listed when they use a search engine. And that means more traffic… more people looking at your whatchamajigs… and more potential buyers.
Oh wait a minute! Maybe you didn’t have your best friend design your web site. Maybe you paid lots of green to have the big boys design a fancy dancy site for you. Great! A professional looking web site is always optimal. What’s that you say? You still don’t get a lot of hits on your web site? Hmmm. Must be gremlins. Tiny little green things that hide inside your computer and snatch up all the web site hits they can swallow. Terrible things they are. Or… maybe it’s that the company you hired to design your web site was very good at design but very lacking in the specialization of Search Engine Optimization. SEO is an entirely separate thing from web site design, and few design professionals are also skilled at SEO. I know. It’s sad, but true. Unless you really do have gremlins! If so, try Lysol. It’s supposed to kill just about anything.
